Hi! I’m Stephanie. Recipe creator, author, head eater and picture taker here at The Foodie and The Fix. I’m also a traveling Coastie wife and a mama of two crazy-fun girls. I wanted to share with you a little about me and this little blog.
It all started very innocently.
At 21, after hardly ever cooking anything in my life, I found myself working at a little kitchen store in the mall. But the thing about most malls is, they’re not busy a lot more than they are busy, so I often found myself sometimes with little to do. In my downtime I learned about every kitchen gadget that we sold and pored over all of the cookbooks that interested me… and just couldn’t get enough.
That was just the beginning of my obsession with food.
Years later, after marrying the hubs and starting a family (and adding in the extra pounds that often come with that), I found the 21 Day Fix. I immediately started adapting all of my family’s favorite recipes to fit the eating plan – and they were truly just as delicious – often only minor tweaks were needed! I hit all of my health goals and we never had to eat plain baked chicken for dinner – not once!
During this time I saw many people in 21 Day Fix Facebook groups regularly complaining about what they were eating (so many plates of broccoli, plain chicken and sweet potatoes!) and that really gnawed at me. There’s just SO much delicious, healthy, not sad food to be had and all I wanted to do from that point on was to share it with anyone who would listen.
So I started this blog with the mission to help as many people (and families!) as possible cook and eat healthy and happy food, whether they’re doing the 21 Day Fix, Weight Watchers or are just trying to cook a little healthier.
So thank you for being here and trying my recipes, it means so much to me, you don’t even know! Because of you I get to do the thing I love most… play with my food and share it with you hungry foodies 🙂
