Hey guys! I know I put it out kind of late last night, but did you happen to see my absolutely-perfect-for-Valentine's Day Rye Mocha Cocktail? It's so delicious and I hope you give it a go!
Anyway, I've got one more recipe that'll be perfect for Valentine's Day and that's these whole wheat cheddar bay biscuits! They're so dreamy, you guys, and so easy! You won't believe how they taste just like the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits. It's crazy.
I don't know if you're as obsessed with Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits as I am (or if you've even ever had them - gasp!) but they're so tender and flavorful and just plain ol' comfort food.
I think we immediately associate them as going with seafood (for obvious reasons), but their garlicky, cheddar goodness goes with so many different meals and would even be incredible for brunch! Can you imagine an eggs benedict but with these flavorful biscuits on the bottom instead of English muffins?? Swoon!
Anyway, let's get to answering some questions and then I'll show you how easy they are to make!
What are cheddar bay biscuits?
Cheddar bay biscuits are fluffy cheddar and garlic-flavored biscuits that are Red Lobster's beloved signature bread offering.
Are cheddar bay biscuits healthy?
Well, these Cheddar Bay Biscuits are made with whole ingredients including whole grains! They're also 21 Day Fix approved and include Weight Watchers points for all three plans, pretty snazzy.
Are 21 Day Fix Cheddar Bay Biscuits gluten-free or vegan?
Unfortunately not, but they are vegetarian.
How do you store Red Lobster copycat cheddar bay biscuits?
I've found they maintain their texture best if they're stored in the refrigerator and then reheated in either an oven or an air fryer at 350°.
How long will healthy cheddar bay biscuits keep in the fridge?
4-5 days.
Can you freeze cheddar bay biscuits?
Absolutely! I would let them thaw in the fridge and either reheat them in the oven (at 350°) or in an air fryer.
Can I make these with regular whole wheat flour?
Yes! If you can't get your hands on whole wheat pastry flour, regular whole wheat flour will work just fine, they'll just be a little denser than they would be with the pastry flour.

📖 Recipe
Whole Wheat Cheddar Bay Biscuits | Red Lobster Copycat Cheddar Bay Biscuits
This whole-grain copycat Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit recipe is a simple, one-bowl dough that tastes JUST like the ones at Red Lobster! Perfect for date night or any night! Great for brunch, too!
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour (or regular whole wheat flour, but they'll be a little lighter with the pastry flour)
- 1 Tbs baking powder
- 1 Tbs sugar
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain unsweetened almond milk
- 7 Tbs butter, melted
- 1 ⅓ cups cheddar cheese, shredded (I like to use sharp, but mild works, too!)
Topping:
- 2 Tbs butter, melted
- 1 Tbs fresh parsley, finely chopped (dried works, too!)
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450° and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
- Stir in the almond milk and the melted butter, trying not to over-stir.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese.
- Using an ice cream scoop, drop scoopfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once fully cooked, remove from oven. Stir together all topping ingredients and evenly top each biscuit with the buttery topping. A basting brush works perfectly for this! Serve!
Notes
*I like to store leftovers in a ziploc bag or other sealed container in the fridge and then reheat in the oven (at 350°) or in the air fryer for best texture.
