This magic healthy dip base gives you endless add-in options for making any delicious dip that you dream up! It's also gluten-free, quick and easy to make, and you can keep portions in your freezer for last-minute snacking!
Hey guys! I'm SO freaking excited about this one! This healthy dip base is something I've been using forever - like in my beloved Spinach and Artichoke Dip - but I wanted to bring it to you guys in a way that would make it easy for you to make any delish dip that you dream up! Don't worry though, I've got 9 amazing ideas to start you off!
What makes this Magic Healthy Dip Base magical, is that with just a handful of ingredients, you've got the start to an endless amount of incredible healthy appetizers. This base is great for cold dips and hot dips, plus it's freezer friendly! I love freezing a batch into portions so I can just pull out what I need whenever I need it!
Any of these healthy dips would even make a great lunch - they're all packed with protein and you can use veggies, your favorite whole grain crackers, homemade tortilla or pita chips, or even some toasted whole grain bread (or a combination of any of these) for dipping!
And here's another fun idea -
Make a dip bar!
My kids have loved getting to create their own dips and it would be so fun to do a dip bar! Just put out this dip base, some small microwavable bowls, and a bunch of fun add-ins (grab some inspo from the recipes posted below) and you've got the most fun appetizer ever!
Ok, let's do some Q&A, then I'll show you how easy it is to make!
Is Magic Healthy Dip Base 21 Day Fix approved?
Yep! Each serving counts as ½ Red and 1 Teaspoon! This recipe is also Weight Watchers friendly (points for each color are in the recipe card) 🙂
Is this healthy dip base gluten-free?
Yes! Just be sure to check that mayo, cottage cheese* and Greek yogurt say gluten-free on the label (most do), especially for those of you with celiac disease.
According to beyondceliac.org, Cottage cheese is usually gluten-free, but some brands may contain wheat starch or modified food starch made from wheat. Check the ingredient list to make sure.
Can you freeze this 21 Day Fix healthy dip base?
Yes! It freezes beautifully!
I use these egg bite molds to freeze them - a single serving of ⅓ cup fits perfectly in each cup! Then once they're frozen, I remove them from the molds and put them in a freezer bag.
How to thaw:
If you're making a hot dip, you can just put the frozen dip into a microwavable bowl and use the defrost setting (or change the power to 30%) to thaw, but not cook it through, then add in whatever is going in there, stir it up and microwave it until hot!
However, if you're making a cold dip, the best way to thaw the base is in the fridge overnight.
How to make Magic Healthy Dip Base:
To a blender, add the cottage cheese...
Greek yogurt,
mayo...
onion powder,
garlic powder...
and salt...
and blend until creamy and completely smooth!
What dips can I make with this healthy dip base? (maybe put these in a list?)

This dip is so yummy! I make the Spinach and the Buffalo Chicken versions all the time. You would never know it isn’t made with sour cream or cream cheese. It’s so easy to make….I’ve made it fresh as well as frozen (in the individual egg molds)…and it’s always great. Thanks for another winning recipe!!
