This Healthy Crab Cake Dip is so delicious and perfect for game night, the holidays, or Valentine's day! PLUS it includes 21 Day Fix counts and Weight Watchers points!
Hey guys! So I promise that I'm going to come back to this post later and add in any and all questions and answers you might have, but the clock's a' tickin' and I'm hustling to get 8 brand spankin' new dips (plus my magic dip base!) on the blog for you before the Super Bowl on Sunday (which, as I'm writing this is exactly 5 days away!)!
But for now, YOU GUYS. You need to know that this crab cake dip is creamy, crab-cakey deliciousness and so perfect for game night, lent, the holidays or Valentine's day! It's a freaking delight!
A huge bonus to this recipe is that it's made using my Magic Healthy Dip Base, so you can whip up a batch and switch it up all week long with one or more of the other 8 (EIGHT!!) incredible healthy dips on this site that use it (or just throw in whatever good stuff you have on hand and create something new)!
What kind of crab should be used to make this Healthy Crab Cake Dip?
I like to use the refrigerated pasteurized crab meat from the seafood department (of course if you can get your hands on fresh for a good price, go for it!). You can really use anything that they have, but I try to get lump if I can. This week when I went all they had was "special" and "claw meat" so I grabbed the special just because I thought it would look better in photos, but either would have worked!
Can I use shelf-stable canned crab meat?
You definitely can, but I highly recommend going for the refrigerated stuff if you can!

📖 Recipe
Healthy Crab Cake Dip
Ingredients
- 3 Tbs Healthy Dip Base (click here or scroll down to the dip base recipe card for the dip base recipe)
- 3 Tbs refrigerated pasteurized crab meat, picked over for shells (1 ½ oz)
- 2 Tbs finely chopped red bell pepper
- 2 Tbs finely chopped onion
- ¼ teaspoon low-sodium old bay seasoning
- ¼ – ½ teaspoon lemon juice (I like to use ½, but it depends on how much lemon you like!)
- 1 teaspoon whole wheat bread crumbs
Topping:
- ½ teaspoon whole wheat bread crumbs
Instructions
- In a small saute pan, saute the peppers and onions, seasoned with a little salt and pepper until softened (they don’t have to be fully soft, it’s nice to have a little crunch left to them).
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix together the dip base, crab, cooked veggies, old bay, lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of whole wheat bread crumbs.
- Microwave 30-40 seconds until heated through, stir. Sprinkle with the remaining teaspoon of whole wheat bread crumbs and serve!

Topping:
- 1 ½ Tbs whole-wheat bread crumbs
