This rich, homemade 21 Day Fix coconut hot cocoa is my kids' new favorite! A super indulgent treat for the whole family that's also gluten free, dairy free and vegan!
Hi. My name is Stephanie and I have a problem. You might even call it an obsession. You're probably thinking that I'm about to say hot chocolate, because ⇑ (and let's face it, that's probably true, too) but no. I'm addicted to pottery. And my adorable little town has done nothing but enable me.
There are SO many great shops in town that carry local Alaskan pottery and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I got this pretty cup at an awesome shop called The Ranting Raven and I basically made this recipe just so I could photograph it. #priorities
Ok, let's get back to this amazing coconut hot cocoa, because you guys, you need this in your life. It's rich, super dark chocolatey but still sweet enough that my kids went nuts for it. Plus coconut. SO good. I also love that I can keep all of the ingredients on hand and it only takes a few minutes to whip up. Swiss Miss is fine (I guess?), but there really is nothing like homemade hot cocoa.
We've been making these like crazy lately while we watch all the Christmas movies. My girls go back and forth between requesting these and my mint steamers. They're both so much better than a packet of super sugary hot cocoa mix, but they're still really easy and quick to make.
Hot tip: If you've got an extra can of coconut milk hanging around, stick it in the fridge so that you can whip it up to top these bad boys off. So rich and deliciously creamy. Just use the directions in this post, leaving out the sugar and cardamom. If you add about 2 ½ tbs of whip per cup, that'll add ½ of a Blue for my fixers 😉
Hope you guys love this one!!

I tried this for the first time per recommendation from a group I’m involved in and I have to say....I was skeptical because I’m an regular hot chocolate drinker and was afraid it wouldn’t be the same.
This recipe while it wasn’t the same in sweetness it was the same in consistency and I thought it was much better than the original.
Your blog and recipes are one of my favorites so thank you.

Tried this tonight, it was the yummiest & easiest dairy free version of hot cocoa I've tried! I altered recipe slightly using 1 cup boxed coconut milk & 2/3 cup canned coconut milk (shook the can up well before opening to mix all the fat), used raw cacoa & homemade vanilla. Left off the topping. It turned out great!
